The Constructor

The work ‘The Constructor’ focuses on building and the continual development of the built environment. Rapidly expanding cities add to the environmental burden, but at the same time offer us endless design and material variations. Building requires skills and techniques. For ‘The Constructor’, I invited labours that are specialised in bamboo construction to think of me as “a permanent building” and construct bamboo scaffoldings around me as is usual in Indonesia.
