Red Hot Body Burden

2011 - Ceramics, leather, cord

Clothing can be seen as an instrument to communicate to the surrounding world and at the same time we can interpret clothing as an instrument for seclusion from the surrounding world. It is a vehicle for all sorts of messages.

I am interested in the idea of appearance and absence; which parts of the body shows one’s personality and which parts don’t.

With this work I tried to erase the ‘identity’ from a person, with the aim to create an anonymous body. Commenting on the current trend of styling, beauty and body cult, I decided to make body extensions with multiplying the mouth, hands and feet, through which the specific personal characters disappear.
