I made these costumes during a short residency at Davidson College in North Carolina. I continued my exploration of bags which references collecting, storing, and carrying. These costumes also refer to the human fixation with consuming and modelling brand-name goods.
It is a commentary on the stuff we collect and surround ourselves with. Most of this “stuff” is unnecessary and captures our attention for only a short time before we get bored. This is especially evident within American thrift shops.
