How Human

Topics related to religion are sensitive. Being critical and asking questions seem like the biggest taboo nowadays in Indonesian society. ‘How human is your religion’ is only readable when the belts are shown in a laying position. I made this work in honor of Abdurrahman Wahid, or Gus Dur, once Indonesian president and an important figure of Islamic thought and social activism. His moderate attitude and humanitarian vision lead him to question conventional religious boundaries.
