This dress is made out of the coast line of north Java. During many centuries, generations of newcomers set foot on this coast line. Traders, travellers and colonizers brought knowledge, trading products and various religions. New lifestyles got adapted, prospered, and were spread. In the modern era, this coast line lost its importance and is not any longer a line of exchange.
